INTRODUCTION TO ART

Expose your children to the world of creativity through paint, paper, clay, mixed materials even fabrics. Interwoven into each lesson history and biography of the art of study.
Many art vendors and children's art classes emphasize only drawing or completing a craft project, my desire is to compile tested art lessons that expose students to famous artists,
art history, and the elements of art (line, space, color, etc.), while
giving them ample creative freedom to ensure their artwork is uniquely
their own. The hope is that art class will simply be a 'jumping off'
point for the students in which they will gain enough self confidence
and skill to take home with them and create after school hours.
ART PROVIDES...rich opportunities to:
· Explore, observe, and analyze visual and other sensory qualities in many
objects, subjects, and events
· Identify and apply knowledge of visual qualities of line, color, texture, value,
form, and space
· Investigate and apply knowledge of formal structures including unity, emphasis,
balance, variety, pattern, and proportion
· Reflect on sensory information through personal interpretation and response
